Michele Lee from Broadway to TV serials

For many viewers, Michele Lee remains the interpreter of brown soap River West Coast (Knots Landing), scion of Dallas who won a huge success in the 80s. Most are unaware that the interpreter Karen FAIRGATE was formerly a star of musicals on Broadway, film and television.
Born in 1942, Michele Lee is the daughter of Jack Dusick makeup who has worked in Hollywood in the late 50s, especially for Grim artists in horror films and westerns like Rawhide. Attending fledgling film sets and television, the girl quickly nabbed the virus. Curiously, it do not want to become an actress but a singer, her baccalaureate, she is already featured in a magazine Vintage 60, which flopped on Broadway. It is nevertheless engaged for two operettas who win success much more important: Bravo Giovanni and especially How to Succeed in Business without fatigue will take nearly 5 years on stage. This show by Frank Loesser, author of Guys and Dolls will be crowned with seven awards at the Tony awards. In 1966 she married actor James Farentino, freshly divorced from Elizabeth Ashley. A union chaotic which will still last for fifteen years. After the birth of his son, Michele Lee signed a contract with the record companies Columbia. She recorded several titles including adaptations of Ne me quitte pas Brel and must know Aznavour, as well as songs from films like The Look of Love from Casino Royale. Submitted without the original versions, proving again his honest performance sung in full voice by a pro who already has an extensive experience in Broadway. The title David Sloane, with his hand shifted a bit reminiscent of Winchester Cathedral is a successful top ten. His version of You'll remember I was also very successful (also in the repertoire of Peggy Lee).
In 1967, Michele Lee finds the Hollywood of his childhood to the very successful film adaptation How to succeed in business with Rudy Vallee and Robert Morse. This satire of the business and careerists is funny, sassy and very nimble; If delivery is highly acclaimed Robert Morse, Michele is very noticeable and the number I believe in you, one of the best in the film.
In 1969, the pretty brunette takes over the role formerly held by Irene Dunne and Kathryn Grayson in the remake of Roberta television with Bob Hope (who was part of the distribution Original Broadway) and Janis Paige. She takes talent with the immortal smoke gets in your eyes.
Certainly in 1969, any film producer would not have ventured to take this operetta. The golden age of Hollywood film music was also gone, and only what triumphs of the last filmed adaptations of Broadway pointing their noses on the big screen. Also, it was impossible to Michele Lee to continue a career in film star of musical comedy. So without the songs we found in 1969 in a Love Bug, a Disney family film studios with the famous small car (I remember very well having seen and greatly enjoyed the movie when I was little). Same thing for the comic that narrates the woes of an egocentric actor burlesque. Yet with Dick Van Dyke featuring (the hero of Mary Poppins and Chitty Bang Bang), one would have expected a musical fantasy. That may indeed be what was expected as the public, who deserted halls, despite the performance of Van Dyke;.
Michele Lee found refuge so on television. If the occasion is the up in a musical (as I see Of singular, one of the few shows that Gershwin never been adapted for the screen), Michele will mainly subscribed for serials TVs. As she herself acknowledges, she has tried all of Dr. Marcus Welby through the Love Boat. She also starred in the TV remakes pale victory on the night a classic Bette Davis or Three Wives. Then in 1981 the West Coast series has brought him international fame has eclipsed all his past performance. In the tradition of Dallas and Dynasty, this interminable soap opera that launched Alec Baldwin and Nicollette Sheridan wanted closer to the average American. Michele's role as wife and integrates them balanced won public sympathy.
Bound by his contract (and a most enviable salary), the actress remained confined to her for 15 series and will be forced to deny roles in several musicals on stage. Since the end of the series, the actress, married to a producer took advantage of his newfound freedom to direct and produce television movies not always very well received by critics (such perfect color me) and especially find the smell boards of musicals and sequins. The Americans recently been able to enjoy it in Hello Dolly, Mame and other classics for experienced artists. In 2005, she also gave tours of singing in nightclubs, resuming his songs as well as Lennon or Joni Mitchell. Enthusiastic and optimistic, Michele Lee still has many projects and is dedicated to alcoholics anonymous. On 10 February, she spends at Carnegie Hall with Michael to make a ho Feistein MMAG Frank Loesser and sung notably I believe in you. If it is a bit late to book a plane ticket to New York and a concert, you can still enjoy his talents as a singer on a CD reissuing its hits of 60.
